Beschreibung

The Peace Academy Rhineland-Palatinate – Academy for Crisis Prevention and Civil Conflict Management at the University of Koblenz-Landau (Landau Campus), makes available the posts of

 

two researchers (wissenschaftliche MitarbeiterInnen)

(m/f/d) (0.65 EGr. 13 TV-L each)

 

as soon as possible (at the earliest for 01.10.2021). The positions are limited to 1 year. The temporary appointment is made on the basis of the regulation of the German Act on Fixed-Term Employment Contracts in Science (WissZeitVG).

 

Main tasks:

The main task is to design a research project for the acquisition of third-party funding in one or more of the following thematic fields: humanitarian aid and human rights; environmental and resource conflicts; crisis prevention and civil conflict transformation as well as peace education. In addition, you will take on tasks in public relations work, as well as in networking with civil society actors in Rhineland-Palatinate. The possibility of scientific qualification is given. The position does not entail any teaching duties.

 

As central academic institution (§ 90 HochSchG) of the University of Koblenz-Landau, the Peace Academy's main aim is to promote civil and preventive strategies for conflict and peace, crisis management as well as peace science activities in the country and at the University of Koblenz-Landau. The post holder will be employed in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment. Further information on the Peace Academy RLP can be obtained at www.friedensakademie-rlp.de.

Anforderungsprofil

Your profile:

  • a degree from a university with above-average success or comparable higher education institution (except with a Bachelor's degree) of peace and conflict studies, social sciences or related sciences
  • a PhD on a peace studies related topic is desirable
  • national and international experience and expertise on at least one of the above-mentioned thematic fields of the Peace Academy, evidenced above all by publications in high-ranking international journals and teaching experiences
  • experience in the acquisition of third-party funding as well as experience in the management of research projects are desirable
  • very good knowledge of crisis prevention and civil conflict transformation
  • very good knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative social research methods
  • field research experience is desirable
  • very good command of German and English, both written and spoken
